About Benkum Senior High School

Established in 1949 by Dr Alex Ansah Kofi of the
Ekumide family of Ahenease, Larteh-Akuapem,
initially it was called Larteh National Secondary
School. Later the name was changed to Larteh
Secondary School and finally renamed Benkum
Senior High to reflect the position of the Chief
of Larteh as the Benkumhene of the Akuapem
Traditional Area.

VISION

To make the school the most preferred secondary
educational institution in the Eastern Region and one
of the best in the country.

MISSION

To create an enabling environment through instilling
strict moral and academic discipline among students,
the provision of a well-disciplined and motivated staff
and the sustained development and maintenance of
physical infrastructure.
