Garden City University College

Garden City University College was established as the College of Information Technology and Management Systems (CITMAS) in 2001. The College commenced operation in October 2002 with four main programmes:

Certificate in AutoCad
Certificate in Integrated Business Computer Applications
Diploma in Computer Programming and Operations
Diploma in Network Information Systems
In January 2004, the Board of Directors voted to convert the College into a University College. This was done to broaden the scope of the College and utilize the vast resources and facilities that had been assembled. It was officially accredited under the name Garden City University College, Kenyase-Kumasi by the National Accreditation Board in July 2005 to run degree and diploma programmes.

The University College currently has one school, three faculties and a centre:

Garden City Business School
Faculty of Applied Sciences
Faculty of Education and Humanities
Faculty of Health Sciences
Centre for Open Distance and eLearning (CODeL).
GCUC has eleven departments within the Faculties offering undergraduate programmes in business, health and applied sciences. Among its facilities are internet connectivity with Wi-Fi accessibility, fully equipped libraries, office equipment, state of the art hostel, simulation rooms, dental clinic, fully dedicated satellite system and many more.

On July 21, 2018, the University College held the 10th Congregation (1st Session).

Our vision is to empower students to acquire and demonstrate knowledge and skills in their various fields of academic study to become the Next Generation of Innovators who will be agents of social change and development of society.



Our mission is providing a centre of excellence in teaching, learning and research with distinctive scholarship and competence, by blending business, information technology, education, social sciences and health sciences to develop innovators in the industrial and other socio-economic sectors in Ghana and the international community.
