Wesley Girls Senior High School

A government-assisted girls’ Methodist school with a strong Methodist tradition. Founded, in 1836 by the wife of the second Methodist missionary to the Gold Coast, Mrs Harriet Wrigley, it provides holistic education and believes that every girl is special and has her own contributions to make. The hard-working staff of the Wesley Girls Senior High School strive to inculcate the core values of Integrity, Respect, Sacrifice, Discipline, Intelligence, Service and Godliness in the girls while both staff and students endeavour to live out the school motto to: ‘Live Pure, Speak True, Right Wrong, and Follow the King.’ It has nine houses most of which are named after past Headmistresses of the school.

To be a centre of quality education in partnership with stakeholders to produce God-Fearing, well-balanced, disciplined and self-confident individuals capable of taking the challenges of a fast-changing world in their stride whilst making the most of every opportunity for self-development and service to humankind.

To create a propitious environment for the spiritual, moral, physical and emotional development of each girl, providing what it takes to attain and sustain the highest academic standard and putting in place a framework that exposes each girl to Ghanaian/African culture and creates an opportunity for each girl to develop their talents to the full while respecting those of others.
