The Association of Small –Scale Industries (ASSI) was established on the initiative of the National Board for Small Scale Industries and other individual small-scale entrepreneurs. The initiative came into force in 1986. ASSI is the apex body or umbrella Association for several small scale industries throughout the country.

Mission
To assist and strengthen new and existing small scale industries to achieve economic development and viability whilst serving as the lead advocate for Trade Sector Associations in Ghana.

Special Focus on Women

  • Shea Butter Extraction: We help with the extraction of the shea butter for rural women, funding and advocacy with pricing, standardization and quality control of products.
  • Pomade and lotion making: We off er training on the making of pomade, we also off er start-up to women
    after training.
  • Catering: We market, brand and assist with the positioning of local caterers within districts.

What kind of support is available for Women-Owned Businesses (WOBs) now?
We provide information on business and products. We also offer financial support to women especially during
this Pandemic to support and revive their businesses. We have also assisted many female entrepreneurs to access the funding from the Coronavirus Alleviation Business Support Scheme(CAPBuSS) being run by the National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI).
